CULINARY USE: Flowers are rich in nectar and suitable for making a sweet tea. Place bottlebrush in teapot and pour over boiling water. allow to steep and then dilute to taste.
DESCRIPTION: Evergreen medium to tall shrub with masses of yellow bottlebrushes in spring and summer. A really hardy shrub and spectacular in flower.
GROWING CONDITIONS: Best in full sun but will tolerate part-shade. Will tolerate extended dry periods once established.
FOR BEST RESULTS: Keep watered until established and add water in spring and summer for a better flowering. Prune back hard after flowering to maintain lush growth and a good shape.
